The farm holidays “La Miando” ( an Occitan word that means cabin) is a Family-run company since 1989, it is situated in the middle of the main hamlet of Salza di Pinerolo, one of the smallest Italian municipalities.
The environment is still intact and undamaged, surrounded by suggestive firs and larches wood, in between the Olimpic Mountain District, a real diamond in the rough.
Ancient family residence, renovated respecting typical traits of mountain houses ( and to prove that, we still only use ecologic wood-heating) it has two lunchrooms and a bigger one with a beautiful old barrel vault ceiling, in order to receive bigger groups.
Bedrooms, wich are simple, neat and cosy, are situated in onother structure, 100m far away, and they consist in a bathroom, and a bedroom supply with a double bed and a bunkbed.
The agritourism also manage the stop-stage GTA ( Big Alpine Crossing), a hikers-shelter with a huge common 12 beds dormitory, of course provided with bathroom .The home-cooking varies according to seasons change, and consequentially the home agricultural self-production, We, in fact cultivate our own fields, like a big vegetables garden, especially potatoes, amongs other fruits and vegetables. We also breed lambs and sheeps, from wich we make delicious fresh and matured cheese, that is possible to taste with our home-made marmalades, really delightful.
Every dish derives from local culinary recipes, according to the Occitan tradition, as for example the “suppo” (traditional waldesian soup) or the “calietthe” ( big potatoes stuffed dumpling).
“ La Miando”, wich belongs to the Germanasca Valley ( one of the two Waldesian Italian valleys) is located at a 1215 m high, and results being the perfect spot for a total relaxing break. Walking through ancients paths and new coursed charts, you can reach also pretty high altitides, embracing beautiful landscapes, not to mention the rich flora and fauna.
One the same territory is it possible also to find hystoricals museums, and above all the “Scopriminiera”, a unique experience on a tiny train that will lead you to the discovery of one of the biggest European talc-mine. If you visit us you also can cross-country skiing, in the near village called Prali, or simply reach the 39km far away Via lattea famous ski slopes. Salsa can offer, on the other hand, an ice rink, and a walk-through-the-woods path for snowshoes; we also rent mountain bikes and we have a convention with the nearby riding school.
This Agro-farm, is also a didactic farm recognized from the Piedmont Region; that means we often and willingly welcome school children, for different educational and recreational activities, and in general any participation at ours activities is more that welcome!
In order to reach us with teh car from Turin ( wich is 70 km away) you should take the highway following directions for Pinerolo at first, then fro Sestriere. Once you find yourself on the new county road, then start to follow indications for Perrero --> Prali --> Val Germanasca --> Valli di Salza and Massello.
